Post - Production

Our protagonist, Amy.

Effects

As we entered the Post Production stage once all our shots were rendered out, we were ready to add in additional effects.

Our CG Supervisor, Harrison Bell and our Production Designer, Nicole Widmer worked together to provide 'fixes' for shots that would meant we wouldn't have to go through the time-consuming process of rendering shots all over again.

They also provided additional effects to improve the visuals of the shots, such as lens flares and fog, to add to the overall atmosphere of the environment and story.

Colour Grading

The process of Colour Grading was done by our Head of Lighting, Shessy Idowu, CG Supervisor Harry, Production Designer Nicole and overseen by Director, Shenaaz. As the director's vision was heavily influenced by television shows such as "American Gods" and "His Dark Materials", we used references from those shows to guide our colour palette and help us set up the colour 'mood' of each scene.

Northern Lights

Harrison Bell created a variety of stunning Northern Lights sky effects to serve as one of our shots in the trailer. We explored movement, speed and colour in order to find the effect that we thought worked best for the scene.

Dialog & Music

For the this project we decided that it would be best if we implemented some form of dialog or voice over to help get the story across and present emotion towards the audience this task was completed by our writer Simone who was able to come up with a great audio script that really portrays the characteristics of the protagonist/heroine, which we then had voiced beautifully by actress Suraya Rose Santos.

The music we used included "Wolf Cry", a melodic chanting track from the late Joseph FireCrow.
For the higher tempo change, we chose "Anticipation" by David Fesliyan.

Final Thoughts

We were faced with a whole new set of challenges, from being undecided on our rendering software, to rig and technical difficulties and more. Our shots were more complex than the last project, but with constant feedback and assistance we were able to overcome our issues and deliver on our outcome.

While there is a lot of room for improvement, we are proud of what were able to achieve and what we've learnt throughout the process.
